There are some things I feel you may want to know in choosing our surf school. We of course focus on safety first having fun and then learning to surf. It is the philosophy of the school that everyone learns the basic fundamentals of surfing. Beginning with how to safely move around in the water, paddling, up and over, and turtle dives. Once the instructors are confident that these skills are in order we focus on our three step method of standing up. Even if you are a returning student we will review these skills so that you may proceed to more advanced skills. Then of course when the skill level is there we move to the outside catching waves. Our sessions are all rotating in the water with your assigned group and then a session of either learning class or testing. The group assignments are based on skill level, size and age. Those of you coming with friends and relatives are welcome to be in the same group. Parents wanting to stay at the school to watch the daily activities is perfectly fine with us. We encourage any input that you may have and I am available on the beach from 8am to 10:30am and back at 11:30am until 2:00pm. Please keep in mind if you have a youngster 5, 6 or 7 years old even though we have specially designed boards and we take them out one at a time please do not have high expectations on their surfing learning skills.In closing I would like to inform you that I personally train all of the instructors in our teaching methods. Your youngster’s safety and experience in the water and on the beach is very important to me and my staff. We are a family business and this will be our 15th year at the same location at Bolsa Chica.
