We offer several awesome ways for your grom to get stoked on surfing during the summer. Our summer surf camp lineup has something for every age and skill level. We have a single sign up for regular surf camp or junior camp. We’ll place each grom in the appropriate camp type on their first day of camp.

Our Junior Surf Camp provides 1:1 surfing instruction for groms not ready yet to paddle on their own while helping them gain confidence in the water.

Groms learn to stand up and catch waves on their own in a safe, fun environment with personalized 3:1 student-instructor coaching.

Daily Schedule: 9am-1pm
| 9am-9:20am | Families check-in. Get wetsuits for the week. Orientation for parents. We apply-sunscreen together, then have on-land lesson to discuss wave conditions and that day’s surfing technique. |

About Boogie Board Surf Camp
This weeklong camp is all about the boogie with a fun beach adventure vibe. We learn boogie boarding, gain ocean awareness, get comfortable in the waves, build sandcastles, and play games in the sand. Conditions permitting we may do a brief intro to surfboards and stand-up surfing for the kiddos towards the end of the week, but all-in-all we’ll be primarily boogie boarding.

What age can kids start surf camp?
Our surf camps are for kids ages 5 and up, with the oldest participants typically around 13 years old.
How much does surf camp cost?
Our 5-day summer surfing camps are priced as follows:
- 9am – 1pm: $460
Each camp runs Monday through Friday. We also provide discounted rates as well. Please call to learn more about those.
What should I expect from surf camp?
Having a fun, safe, memorable experience! Every camper gets personalized surf lessons. If this is their first time surfing we take special care to show the fundamentals. They’ll learn how to:
- Safely paddle into oncoming waves
- Recognize the best waves for riding
- Catch a wave and stand up
- Balance on the surfboard
- End rides by falling off safely
Surf camp includes multiple surf sessions, beach games, snack breaks, and sunscreen checks throughout the day. We also teach water safety, proper surf etiquette, and ocean appreciation. Most important of all your family will make new friends, share good times, and have fun at our surf camp!

What’s the cancellation policy?
We totally get that with groms the best-laid plans can change. So if you need to cancel, no worries. Cancellations made 8 or more days before the start of your camp will just incur a $20 fee. If you cancel 7 days or less before your camp’s start date there will be a $100 fee. In both cases you’ll receive the remainder of your deposit back. (A no-show on the first day of camp will incur a $100 charge in addition to the lost deposit.) There are no makeup days or week transfers. For more info please see our full cancellation policy.

About Our Surf Camp
Corky Carroll’s Surf Camp is located at Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach, California. This consistent beach break (no rocks) has smaller wave sizes compared to other southern California surf breaks. With smaller crowds and NO aggressive locals, our surf camp provides conditions for a safer, easier, and more enjoyable way to learn to surf. The state beach also provides bathrooms and showers at our camp, along with plenty of parking and easy pick-up and drop-off.
Surf Camp vs Jr. Surf Camp
Corky Carroll’s Surf School offer two separate surf camps. When you arrive on your first day of camp we help determine which will suite them best based on experience and ocean confidence. Although it can sometimes be an indicator, placement is not determined solely by age. Our regular Surf Camp is designed to help groms learn to surf on their own through a 3:1 instructor ratio. Our Junior Surf Camp provides 1:1 surfing instruction designed for kids who aren’t quite ready to begin group surf lessons or paddle on their own.
Our Camp Teaches Surfing Fundamentals
We want our campers to have the best experience possible. We teach the basics first on land, then get the students in the water and standing up in no time to grow more confident in the ocean and build their surf knowledge. We’ve run surf camps at the same location for 30 years. At every camp, we use our proven teaching techniques to ensure they learn the proper fundamentals.
